Practice Manager

& Lead Psychometrist

Odilia

After completing her BPsych Equivalent in Psychometrics at the University of Johannesburg in 2018, Odilia opened her Independent Practice in 2019. She started working with Megan Clerk, Educational Psychologist in 2020 where she ran various assessments including medico-legal assessments, career assessments, subject choice assessments, psycho-educational assessments as well as concession assessments. Odilia stepped up to become Megan’s Practice Manager in September 2022 and continues to work alongside Megan .

Always passionate about humanities, Odilia completed her Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Degree majoring in Human Physiology and Psychology in 2014. She decided to further her academic interest in Psychology and completed her Honours Degree in Applied Psychology (B.A. Hons Psyc) in 2016 from UNISA.

Odilia has always been involved with different humanity disciplines and has often engaged with many children and Non-Profit Organisations throughout the years.  She has extensive knowledge in working with children including neurodivergent children as well as children with various needs. She has increased her knowledge base in HIV & AIDS Counselling, Autism Inclusion Strategies and is ABA trained. Over and above this, she is a qualified International Mediator with the Association of Arbitration (AoA) and a certified HeartMath Coach.

As a result of her core interest in the Psychology industry, Odilia advanced her academics to include Psychometrics (BPsych Equivalent) which she completed in 2018, after completing a 6-month internship in psychometry.  Following her internship, she completed and passed her board exam and registered with the HPCSA (PMT0095923) as well as the Board of Healthcare Funders (BHF). She is an organisational member of the HPCSA, Association of Arbitration (Southern Africa) and HeartMath South Africa.

Psychometrist

Leschke

Leschke joined the team in January 2022. She conducts assessments in English and Afrikaans.

Leschke always knew that her career would involve working with people, although she was unsure what her path would look like. Her journey to becoming a Registered Psychometrist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) started when she completed her undergraduate degree in Industrial Psychology (2013) and furthered her tertiary studies. While she was working full-time and completing her studies, she was exposed to Psychometric Assessments in the corporate environment. The practical application of Psychological Testing in certain situations fascinated her and she wanted to know more. Upon completing her Honours Leschke started doing some research and found the Centre for Psychological and Career Development (PsyCad) at the University of Johannesburg. She enrolled in the short course in Practical Psychometry where Leschke was offered a place at PsyCad as a student Psychometrist. This is where Leschke discovered my passion and enthusiasm for helping young children, adolescents, and adults.

Leschke believes that by helping individuals and supporting their quest to self-discovery, we will enrich lives and transform society.  Something that resonates with her is the saying, “You don’t know what you don’t know” and strongly believes it is her purpose in life to help people realise their full potential. Individuals are often under a great deal of pressure with high social expectations placed upon them.  This can lead to false and self-limiting beliefs.  Albert Einstein said “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” Leschke’s wish is to help equip individuals to develop into the best version of themselves.

Psychometrist

Melanie

Melanie is the newest member of the team having joined in January 2023. She conducts assessments in both English and Afrikaans. With the assistance of trained Interpreters, Melanie also conducts Medico-Legal assessments in the official languages of South Africa.

After obtaining an Honors Degree in Psychology, Melanie went on to complete a BPsych so that she could register as a Psychometrist in Independent Practice. Melanie is also a certified Brain-Based Coach and has over 20 years of corporate experience working within people development.

As a Psychometrist, Melanie is primarily responsible for administering and scoring assessments. Melanie has experience in corporate, medico-legal, and psycho-educational assessments.

Melanie has a special interest in providing career guidance to young adults using coaching and career-related assessments. Melanie finds it incredibly rewarding to have an opportunity to assist clients to reach their full potential in both their educational, professional and personal lives.
