Developmental assessments evaluate young children (from age 3 to 5 years), to determine a child’s progress in meeting important milestones of early childhood.
Important milestones occur in a variety of areas such as in language, visual motor integration, self-regulation, motor skills and emotional development. Developmental assessments provide for an early intervention in identifying concerns and providing support for children and their parents or caregivers. Failure to identify and scaffold (support) these delays can have long-term negative impact which may interfere with reaching a child’s full potential.
